A native of Monticello, Indiana, Bruce has led a broad and interesting life. After attending Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, he made a monumental decision to defend his country—and served in the United States Army from 1984-1988 as an Airborne Ranger; 1st Battalion, Long Range Surveillance Unit; 7th Cavalry (Germany).
Once out of service, he continued on with the Indiana National Guard from 1988-1990 and again from 1992-1995—which included a move to Indianapolis—where he began a 10-year stint of nightclub management in the Broad Ripple area.
While at the forefront of the trendy social scene, Bruce became acquainted with Ned Sutton and Pete Weaver of Pfortune Art & Design on a social and professional level during the completion of a number of renovation projects within the clubs that they designed and built.
So impressed with their integrity and quality of work, Bruce went to work with them in January of 2008, where he immediately assumed all activities as the Production Manager.
Duties included ordering raw material (molding, mat board, glass, foam board, hardware), preparing all submitted work orders for finish framing (dry-mounting, programming and cutting mat board with the computerized mat cutter, trimming glass, frame assembly), and overseeing all aspects of meeting promised completion and installation dates.
Bruce is also part of the “on-site” delivery and installation team that has completed many high profile artwork projects within the corporate, commercial and healthcare industry along with many within the residential community.
In his free time, Bruce enjoys watching sports of all varieties, and also actively participates in volleyball leagues as well as playing billiards and euchre. You will often see him riding his bike around the Ripple area for fun and for exercise. Bruce is an avid comic book collector with at least 3,000 titles in his possession, a hobby he sees as not only fun, but also a great investment.
Bruce enjoys working at Pfortune because every day is different, as well as the close bond he has developed with his coworkers. The ultimate goal is to make every client’s vision a reality using quality products, first class service and professionalism.
